... and here's the second part of the photo shoot I had with Richy!

He's still covered in blue for all of these pictures but for some reason I ended up with black/white photos instead of keeping them in colour. Editing them in b/w does take away a bit of the effect of the strong and vibrant blue, which is a pity.... And I know, it probably seems weird to most of you to have a shooting about the colour blue and then turn all the photos b/w. But I do think it creates a very own kind of atmosphere and effect and I quite like it.

I hope you like the second part as much as I do, because some of these photos are hot, hot, hot.

up close and personal - part 1

"i don't wanna feel blue anymore."

A few days ago, Richy and I realized how long it's been since we had a photo shoot together and decided to change that. Luckily, Richy already had an idea - he wanted to do something with the colour "blue". Since we didn't have a strict concept for this shoot, I experimented quite a bit (especially with the zoom and focus). I didn't just want to take simple portraits like I usually do. I have to say, I love the results very much! 

The title for this shoot is "up close and personal" and I think it's easy to tell why I chose that when looking at the photos. This first part mostly consists of close-ups that don't show Richy's face. 

I will try to upload the second part as soon as possible!

Hi guys, it's been a while!
Sorry for not really keeping my blog updated, I've actually missed posting here.
I promise to do better again :)

I've been writing about the photo shooting I had just recently on my Facebook and Twitter and today I want to share the results with you!

I have known Julie for a couple of years and she's a very dear friend. She's also one of the most beautiful people I know, hands down. I've kept seeing gorgeous photos of her, and a couple of months ago at a Steampunk event in Hamburg, I met the photographer behind a lot of her great pictures - Oliver Blang! I'm a big fan of Oliver's work as a photographer, he has an amazing gallery full of beautiful, creative and unique pictures!

When Oliver and Julie asked me if I'd be interested in joining both of them for a photo shooting, of course I said yes! I'm usually behind the camera and not in front of it, but I couldn't let a chance like this pass without giving it a try.

I was actually pretty nervous about the shooting at first, because I have no idea how to move and pose in front of the camera. But thanks to the relaxed atmosphere that Oliver created for us, and also thanks to being there with Julie, who already is like a pro in front of the camera, it was easy to get the hang of it after only a couple of minutes.

All in all, it's been a great experience and I'm really happy about the results. 
We've started off with a very sweet setting full of soft colours and lots of light, and then later moved on to a more edgy, darker, sexier look. I really enjoyed both parts, and it was especially fun doing both on one day and feeling the contrast between the styles so clearly.

Again, thanks a lot to Oliver and Julie for this great day! I loved working with you :)

I paint my own reality

(First of all: I know, I know. I wanted to finish this post a lot earlier. Think of it as part of my plan to get you more curious about the shooting :P )

So... about two weeks ago I got a very mysterious message from Leonie, asking if I'd model for her and adding "Just a warning: You won't be wearing much." Of course that left me wondering what exactly she was planning and I have to say: up to this date it's one of the most exciting but also most difficult photoshootings that I had!

Her idea included a dark background, bright big lights from behind and many beautiful colours - those you would use at the Holi festival. 

And here's the warning again: If you're at work, school or any other place where you shouldn't be looking at photos of people in just their underwear, you'd probably better skip this post. (Or if you're at home but just don't ever want to see me in underwear: same warning for you! :D )

What always makes me a little jealous of Leonie's school is the fact that they can use the photo studio there. It always feels a little different to shoot in an actual studio!

Since it was obviously going to be a messy shooting, we started with preparing the studio and covering the walls and the floor with plastic sheets. Leonie's friend Johanna was nice enough to get up that early on a Wednesday morning and be the assistant for the shooting, thanks again! Johanna was also in charge of the colours and by the end of the shooting she was pretty much covered in it too.

I have to say, I don't know if I'd ever want to go to the Holi festival. We only had one person throwing the coloured powder in the air but all three of us had to stop to drink water or just take a moment to breathe several times. While the colours are really easy to wash out and also not harmful, it still leaves you with a very dry throat and mouth. I can't imagine being in an entire crowd of people throwing those colours to be honest. 

But the effect that the powder had on the photos very really worth it if you ask me. This is also why I don't mind the fact that I haven't been wearing anything but underwear: You can't really see much and the focus is on the colours and not as much on the body. (Also, I don't really get what's the big deal of seeing a naked body anyway since every person has one but that's a different story.)

All in all, it was an exhausting shooting that left me with sore muscles the next day (though I also had my hip hop class later that day, which might be part of the reason too) but it was so much fun. It was definitely a new experience and something that I enjoyed trying, so thanks again to Leonie for asking me to be her model and for taking brilliant photos!

20th September: Julie and Sha

No, sadly there's no mistake in the blog title. Today I finaaaally finished editing my favourite photos of the photoshooting we had in September. I wanna apologize once again for taking so long ;_; Sorry girls!

That Thursday was quite windy, but we were lucky enough to catch a bit of the sun before it got too cold! Despite the cold it was a funny photoshooting and in the end we almost had more outtakes than 'serious pictures' :D Afterwards we bought some warm drinks in a coffee shop nearby and had a little party of our own there ;)

And because they're too cute I'm sharing some outtakes too! :)
